Academic Advising

Academic advisors are available to provide currently enrolled and prospective students assistance in planning their academic programs. Advisors can help you decide if a program meets your needs, offer advice on course selection, and help you with the transcript evaluation and the transfer credit process. Advisors can also provide referrals to other campus offices to help students navigate the University's diverse resources.

Financial Aid

Availability of financial aid varies depending upon course status and matriculation. Financial assistance may be available from employers, through continuing education loans and grants, and under the G.I. Bill for eligible military personnel.

The University of Massachusetts is the best value in higher education for both online and face-to-face students. Online students benefit from the same eligibility for financial aid as traditional students.

Technical Support and Requirements

Technical requirements vary by sponsoring campus, but some prerequisites are standard. You must:

• have access to a personal computer (Mac or Windows) with at least 128MB RAM (256MB preferred)
• be familiar with basic computer skills
• be connected to the internet
• have an e-mail program and account
• have at least a 56 kbps modem (DSL or Broadband Cable recommended)
• have a Java capable browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari)
